Al-Qaida Chief Threatens India: Kashmir Issue

The Kashmir issue has been a long-standing problem from India. And now a new problem has arisen. Terror syndicate Al- Qaida chief, Ayman al-Zawahiri ordered the Mujahideen in Kashmir to inflict “unrelenting blows” on the Indian army and government in Jammu and Kashmir. This was the message contained in a work released the terror outfit’s media wing. This is according to what has been reported the Foundation for Defence of Democracies’ (FDD) Long War Journal.

He also revealed that Pakistan was involved in fueling cross-border terrorism in Kashmir. This was mentioned in the message that was titled “Don’t Forget Kashmir”. This message was released Al Shabab. The article in the journal states that al-Qaida has been grooming an upstart group to wage jihad against Indian forces in Kashmir.

Zawahiri said, “(I am) of the view that the Mujahideen in Kashmir – at this stage at least – should single-mindedly focus on inflicting unrelenting blows on the Indian Army and government, so as to bleed the Indian economy and make India suffer sustained losses in manpower and equipment.”

Zawahiri did not explicitly mention terrorist Zakir Musa, a key terrorist of the Kashmir issue. But his picture did flash on the screen. He was the founder of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGH). This might suggest that Zawahiri and AGH (Al-Qaida Kashmir Cell) are coordinating their messages. Musa and Lelhari, his successor, have openly admitted Pakistan’s involvement in the training of Kashmiri jihadists. But they also cautioned that “Pakistan is not trustworthy.” Zawahiri called both the Pakistani Army and government “toadies of America” in his message.

Pakistan is clearly playing the double-game with the Kashmir issue. It is exploiting the Mujahideen for specific political objectives. As soon as its interests are met, the terrorists are dumped or persecuted the country.
